Since Houston days, and before, actually… One of my current favs is “Starry, Starry Night”… It gathers up the same emotions I feel when I’m up at the cottage on the Maine coast… The heavens are alive! It’s so dark you can see the COLORS of the stars… They glitter like colored diamonds flung across black velvet… The Milky Way is a sparkling diamond cloud that is draped across the heavens… If the heavens and stars can sing at all, it is there I hear their song most clearly… And it is breathtaking…
Van Gogh, with his swirling heavens and stars, captures that indescribable feeling of watching and listening to a soaring melody of celebration while gazing at heavens of extreme beauty…
Okay, that was and is probably over the top, well over the top, but it is how I feel… Which just makes me over the top, I guess… Oh well. lol
What a lovely reminder- perfect to sleep on and dream of bewitching colors.
Mr Gogh entered my life not through his paintings, but his book (Lust for life)…and then his world of paint dutifully followed. I guess I tend to find my way around things the other way round:)
Vicki, if you manage a date (I don’t care how), I would like to barge in on the final round of coffee…and vaporize into yellow fumes right after.
So, now instead of having Wayne Newton stuck in my head, I have the Sexy Robot song stuck in there. Has a nice ring to it. Robina has great hair by the way.
Van Gogh, sexy robots… what more do you need! FJ, Just like Van Gogh you have an “ear” for music! I stood in front of a Van Gogh recently at the Getty in LA., for a while
Timm, knowing FJ there is probably some kind of veiled message about Van Gogh in the Sexy robot video. I’m gonna go back for a second look , could it be we might actually discover the reason for the ear lobbing episode?
Which Van Gogh painting did you gaze upon? Every time I encounter a Van Gogh, the guard always has to tell me to move along. You can never get enough!
Aahh, Van Gogh.
Yes! “Aahh”!!! Who doesn’t love Van Gogh?
I adore Van Gogh… One of my dreams is to spend at least a day in the Van Gogh museum:

One of my dreams is to spend a day painting with Van Gogh!
Well, Vic, not to burst any bubbles, but that probably won’t happen any time soon…
That’s why I listed my “next best” option… Spending a day surrounded by his unique, emotional paintings…
This is to me, what crack is to an addict… lol
I’ve been a groupie of Van Gogh for a long time now.
Me too, Vic, me too.
