When I think of someone who has such a love of books…I think of you and your vast library! Talent set aside…the fact that you are so well read makes you one interesting man! Thanks Prescott for stopping by…I do love your comments!
Well, Vic, I do love books, and am even now currently sorting through the thousands that grace my library, trying to make judicious decisions as to what I should keep and what I need to let go of, so others can enjoy them… Not an easy task for me, as I see each and every book as a free pass into another world, just waiting there for me to explore…
As for the rest, I can only hope that some might find something of interest in me, but all I truly understand, is that the more I read, the more there is to read, the more I try to understand, the more I understand how little I actually do…
It is in my conversations with others that I finally find true illumination to what ever I may have read…
People are, and always will be my touchstone with reality and true understanding…
And for that, I thank you for all you have contributed to my life and to my understanding… A gift that has no price… But one I intend to pay forward… In your name.
I guess it would be corny to say I have tears in my eyes right now! But its true…thank you for your heartfelt words .
Parting with books is like giving up an old friend.. I know, I’ve gone through my books and given many away….its hard…isn’t it?
But you’re right, it better to share and let others explore new worlds!
I love moving books on to another reader, it’s my Hot VW’s magazines that are almost impossible to get rid of. Can someone analyze that for me? I know it means I am kind of a German car redneck!
Who doesn’t love German cars? I have an ongoing love affair with VW’s , Airstream trailers and of course my beloved Vespa!!!!!!! Keep the magazines hun…its OK! We all have our vices!
By the way…there is nothing “redneck” about you!
Love ya!
Love reading, and if I did not need to work to earn a living, I’d be curled up with a book right now:)
And I have my grandpa to thank for imparting this love. Even though he is no longer with me, he stays with me, between the book covers, on every page.
Scott has done it again Vicki! What a knack for lighting up sparkling epiphanies along our way. What we read, and no matter how much we read… it is in the passionate intercourse of conversations that we find a true understanding, a touchdown with reality.
Beautifully stated Juicer! You always rise to the occasion when offering a comment!
Is it me? But I love looking at books as much as I do reading them? ahhhh, a constant love affair!
Hi I loved the aqua colours you use so I dropped some into my header. and remember “The world is a blog and those who do not blog, see only a screen”
HaHa, I like that quote Sean! I’ll stop by your blog and check out the aqua….I do love me some aqua!
Well, now. Here’s one quote from Augustine with which I can agree…
It has been my privilege to be able to read a number of pages from this book called the world, each entrancing in their own right…
I look forward to reading many more pages, before my traveling days cease…
