Yesterday while shopping at my favorite grocery store Whole Foods, I lingered a little longer than usual in the produce section (which also happens to be my favorite part of the store) because I was on a mission of sorts to buy up some of the summer fruit before fall becomes firmly established here in the Rockies. I was feeling a little anxious since I was already shopping in a sweater, scarf and raincoat!
To my surprise, there was a huge pile of fresh nectarines! I immediately began cramming as many in the plastic bag as possible. I was actually excited! Not only was there an abundant supply, but they were so beautiful in color! As a matter of fact, it was like looking at a gorgeous mosaic of fall colors, burnt red, amber yellow and rustic orange. It was a beautiful sight! So naturally I was feeling inspired, I began to think of the warm jewel tones of fall and then my thoughts went to a book I have at home, “Moroccan Interiors”. Yes, that’s what it felt like…. It felt and looked like the amazing colors of Morocco!
Today, influences from Morocco to India have provided the world of Fashion and Interior Design with a cornucopia of colorful styles and ideas!
These days you can take a few Moroccan inspired elements to really liven up a room.
Every shade of nectarine orange to adobe clay colors are really in style for home Interiors right now!
You will never feel cold in this sitting room!
If you are not comfortable painting the walls a color, then try a warm Moroccan rug to welcome your guests!
If the warm walls are not for you, then cool it down with neutral walls and add a grey blue or lavender to the mix…. Works every time!
This is a nice Traditional mix with Moroccan accents!
Often when designing a room , begin with a rug you love or some kind of richly colored textile !
This is a fun modern twist on Moroccan design. I love the nectarine color solid rug. It makes all the other colors and fabric patterns really stand out!
This is a great example of subtle Moroccan style. The round aqua floor pillow, rug and neutral clay pots add just the right amount of worldly design.
I absolutely love the pastel clay walls mixed with the darker nectarine floor pillow and tile floor!
Yummy, colored Moroccan rugs! I take one of each!
This Moroccan fabric really warms up any bathroom!
If you’re not interested in Interior Design, you might want to add this fabulous Moroccan necklace for an up-to-date Fashion statement !
So next time you’re in the produce section of your store…look around you and see the colors you love and get totally inspired!
Turns out….nectarines really do lead to Morocco!
I think I’ll make some Moroccan Tea and dream of all the beautiful possibilities for the upcoming fall season!
All beautiful decorating ideas Vicki! Morocco is one of my most favorite places on this planet. If I’m in Gibralter, I’ll go on the ferry to Tangier even for a couple of hours. Marrakech is of course preferable tho!!
Oh, and did you see my pic of Moroccan tea on my FB?
Yes, I did see your photo on FB! I actually thought about it when writing this post…I had a feeling you’d love it! So, if I get a group together, would you be our guide? I think we should get all our blogger friends and go to Morocco!!!
So glad you’re back online…I really did miss you my son! I’m still claiming you as one of my kids!
Love ya and hugs!
I love coming here and be surprised by your header for the post!!
Yes, fall is creeping up on and I can taste the “end” in the nectarines, they don’t taste like summer anymore..but fortunately we have grapes in season now and the quinces are coming in..
Love all the Moroccon colours and atmosphere, maybe this could lead to a tagine for dinner…
ronelle
My dear Ronelle,
You are always welcome in my little corner of the world…I like it that you notice every detail, even down to the “header”. You do have an eye for all things beautiful and tasteful! Wish I could be at your dinner table tonight talking about fall and all its splendor!
Hugs my new friend!
Ravishing colors! Just like the fiery colors of fall:)
It’s so great to see you encourage everyone to take the plunge with luscious colors, play with them…not be vary of them.
The subtle Moroccan style idea and the one right below are just mind blowing! I love the flooring – very akin to what my grandmother’s house would have had!
If you are planning a trip to Morocco…don’t you forget to drop me a line too!
Juicer darling! Yes, I do want to go to Morocco! I think we need to collect our pennies and our blogger friends then meet up with Scott to show us around…then when we’ve spent and eaten enough…you will take me on to my beloved India!!
So happy to see you in my neighborhood!
Love and hugs!
Morocco, eh? Now that sounds like a trip that could be a lot of fun… I just love seeing new places, meeting new people, experiencing other cultures, learning new things, eating different foods… It always throws my own mundane life and experiences into another perspective, which is something I am always happy and grateful to do…
I spent almost three weeks in Egypt, doing all of the above, and it was magic. I imagine Morocco would be a similar journey into the magic of the east… I came back changed from Egypt, and suspect Morocco would do that all over again.
Isn’t this world just a wonderful place? So much to see, so much to do, and so much to learn… And the privilege to do it all. How can one ever be bored?
If you go, you must post all about the trip, every little detail, for if you don’t, I shall hound you forever until you do! Now, you are warned! lol
Prescott!!!
Yes, the world is a wonderful place! Often when reading about other places I find myself dreaming of traveling and seeing it all!
Well, if we do go…then you are on the guest list of passengers! So you’ll have to take those photos right along with me.
Wouldn’t it be fabulous to have a gang of friends who love to see the world?
I trust you will hound me….that’s what dear friends like you do!
Love you !
Vic – it sure would be nice to travel with a group of people that have similar interests and sensibilities… To be able to share what you see with others that are important when it comes to art, architecture and culture…
As I have said before, and will say it again, other people bring me places I never could travel by myself, especially when it comes to my mind…
How I wish I had had your eyes, as well as those of Fundimental Jelly (Bob), and a host of others that I hold close in my heart for a multitude of reasons, on my extensive travels throughout the Mediterranean… I just know I would have seen so much more than I ever did just by my lonesome… That is not to say I didn’t see things by myself, just that I would have profited so much more from all of the input you and others would have provided…
I can say, unequivocally, that you, and others would have not only allowed me, but helped me, to see so much more than I ever could see with my own eyes…
Vic, we may not always agree on everything, but that is not the point… I treasure your input PRECISELY because it is significantly different than mine…
And for someone who desires to grow, to see things not only as I do, but as they might be for others, this is an irreplaceable gift…
I do not choose now, or ever, to live in an echo chamber, which is why I travel to begin with…
Friends, in their very “differentness”, give a gift that is not only irreplaceable, it is of a worth beyond any given value…
I guess I would say that to travel with a friend is to go more than one place at one time, even though you travel to the same destination.
Now, I ask you, where else will you find such a treasure?
Ahhhh and a big sigh! I love the way you express yourself! And you my friend have added so much joy to my life on so many levels. I do love that we share in the joy of art. I too value all your input over the years…it is priceless!
I’d like to dream that we could all go on a fantastic art journey taking photos along the way, eating to much , laughing , sitting in a cafe drinking up all the new surroundings….it would be heavenly!
One can hope…right?
Thank you for your comments….I do appreciate them so very much my friend.
All my love and devotion…
V
You certainly do get around Princess Shalmar. These rooms are as luscious as you are. We should gather up all the nectarines and be Moroccan bound

HaHaHa!!! Yes, I’ve been planning in my head. I did some checking ….looks like spring is a good time to go with the weather and all. That would give me time to get some pennies together.
Keep on us kiddo…I can only imagine how fun it would be for our little blog family to have a field (photography) trip! Yay!

Vicki, this post brought me so much pleasure! You’ve shown my favorite colors and patterns – I could live happily in any of these rooms and wish I could.
If I win the lottery…
Well then lets hope you win the lottery…
I’m so pleased you enjoyed all the rooms, I love’m too! Thanks PV!
I just love coming here. I should really do it more often. I think I found the color I want for my entryway! That rich terracotta color in the one photo is just scrumptious. I’m on a huge organizational kick, and once I simplify and get everything cleared out I will treat myself to some beautiful paint. Thank you for this beautiful corner of the blogosphere, Vicki!
Thank you for your kind words! Like you I’m trying very hard to get organized…and then I’m doing some house painting myself!
When you do paint, please send photos, I’ll post them on my blog! Yay! And yes, please come by more often to visit, love having you here!
