This summer season has produced an unusual amount of rain and as a result my lawn mowing routine has become increasingly demanding and frequent! What was once a fun summer chore has now grown into a dreaded horticultural enslavement!
I have a strong killer instinct toward weeds of any kind so my immediate thought was, I need to kill it! But something inside me said, no wait! So I walked over to take a closer look.
As I moved in for a close up, I was awe struck by a singular beam of light streaming through the clouds, highlighting this small almost celestial fuzzy globe of a weed! Transfixed by its star like beauty , I began to remember my previous encounters …
Hoping no one was looking, I knelt down and gently pulled the snowy white flower out from the ground and held it up to my lips…then I gently exhaled …
Like magic the tiny wispy buds caught stage on a tender breeze and ballerina danced around my face. And for a brief moment, I was reborn a child again . It was an instantaneous rendezvous modifying my perspective on yard work all together. I returned once again to my domestic task peacefully contented.
If I may suggest ….the next time you see a dandelion….well, you’ll know what to do!
