Yesterday while shopping at my favorite grocery store Whole Foods, I lingered a little longer than usual in the produce section (which also happens to be my favorite part of the store) because I was on a mission of sorts to buy up some of the summer fruit before fall becomes firmly established here in the Rockies. I was feeling a little anxious since I was already shopping in a sweater, scarf and raincoat!
To my surprise, there was a huge pile of fresh nectarines! I immediately began cramming as many in the plastic bag as possible. I was actually excited! Not only was there an abundant supply, but they were so beautiful in color! As a matter of fact, it was like looking at a gorgeous mosaic of fall colors, burnt red, amber yellow and rustic orange. It was a beautiful sight! So naturally I was feeling inspired, I began to think of the warm jewel tones of fall and then my thoughts went to a book I have at home, “Moroccan Interiors”. Yes, that’s what it felt like…. It felt and looked like the amazing colors of Morocco!
Today, influences from Morocco to India have provided the world of Fashion and Interior Design with a cornucopia of colorful styles and ideas!
These days you can take a few Moroccan inspired elements to really liven up a room.
Every shade of nectarine orange to adobe clay colors are really in style for home Interiors right now!
You will never feel cold in this sitting room!
If you are not comfortable painting the walls a color, then try a warm Moroccan rug to welcome your guests!
If the warm walls are not for you, then cool it down with neutral walls and add a grey blue or lavender to the mix…. Works every time!
This is a nice Traditional mix with Moroccan accents!
Often when designing a room , begin with a rug you love or some kind of richly colored textile !
This is a fun modern twist on Moroccan design. I love the nectarine color solid rug. It makes all the other colors and fabric patterns really stand out!
This is a great example of subtle Moroccan style. The round aqua floor pillow, rug and neutral clay pots add just the right amount of worldly design.
I absolutely love the pastel clay walls mixed with the darker nectarine floor pillow and tile floor!
Yummy, colored Moroccan rugs! I take one of each!
This Moroccan fabric really warms up any bathroom!
If you’re not interested in Interior Design, you might want to add this fabulous Moroccan necklace for an up-to-date Fashion statement !
So next time you’re in the produce section of your store…look around you and see the colors you love and get totally inspired!
Turns out….nectarines really do lead to Morocco!
I think I’ll make some Moroccan Tea and dream of all the beautiful possibilities for the upcoming fall season!

The book is worth reading as well. You could read it over a weekend!
What normally is a day to catch up with all the things you could not accomplish earlier in the week, Saturday is usually quite busy for most of us. But if at all possible, take a moment to reflect on all the good in your life, look around you and see the smallest of benefits….
Remember those you so dearly love….
Listen to your heart and see where it may lead you today….
It was eight years ago today many innocent lives were sacrificed on the altar of ideology. The fiery tempest roared into the belly of our land taking with it our sense of sheltered immunity and fortified safety. For a moment, we were forced to our knees in dust and ashes and most of all monumental national grief. Our internal clocks stood still to the point that even today, we could effortlessly say what we were doing at the very hour of such a carnal act. So today, we take a moment as we remember those lost, those in grief and those still fighting and holding back evil upon our land.
It effected all of us…
Answering the call….
The unforgiving mountains of Afghanistan

Iraq – Today , it is not a matter of agreement or not….we’re there and we need to remember our troops.
So today remember…..
And never forget those still in the fight…
May God Bless America today and always….
